How to Check if Your Aadhaar is Linked with Bank Accounts Online? Free Aadhaar Status Checking Tool

Hello Guys, welcome to the last post of 2017 in NRISavingsFunda and what could be the better topic than "linking Aadhaar" to close out the year. In this article, I'll show you how to check the status of your Aadhaar and bank account linking status online. The whole 2017 can be dedicated to Aadhaar linkage.

First, It was PAN Card to Aadhaar card linkage than Income tax department made it mandatory to provide Aadhaar number to process income tax returns.


People were struggling with this change then Government announced that you also need to link your Bank accounts, Insurance policies, Mutual funds, and Mobile phones with Aadhaar card.

It came to that point people started making jokes about Aadhaar card should be linked to your Cable connections, Facebook Account, Twitter Account, and Youtube Account. I am not sure if there is any truth of that but I am sure Aadhaar linking with Social Media account may happen in 2018.

There is a very good chance of that to regular and make people responsible for what they post on Social Media.

Anyway, December brings a bit of good news for all those people who have not linked their Bank accounts with Aadhaar Card.

The government provided relief that Aadhaar to Bank Accounts linking 31st December deadline will be extended up to 31st March but only for those people who don't have Aadhaar card. In short, today is the last date to link your Aadhaar card with your bank account if you have Aadhaar Number and haven't linked to your all bank accounts.



How to check Aadhaar to Bank Accounts linking status online

Btw, what about all those people who have linked their Aadhaar with Bank Accounts, how do they check or verify if Aadhaar is correctly linked to their Bank accounts? Thankfully, Aadhaar website UIDAI provides a tool to check that. In this article, I am going to show you how to check if your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account step by step.

Step 1:
Go to the Aadhaar website - www.uidai.gov.in

Step 2:
Click on 'Check Aadhaar and Bank Account Linking Status'

Step 3:
Enter your Aadhaar number and security code. After you submit those two details, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, the one which you provided to Aadhaar database.

Step 4:
Enter the OTP and click on 'Login'


Step 5:
After successful login, You can see whether your Aadhaar number is successfully linked to your bank account or not. Btw, you should remember that It will only show you the last bank account that has been linked to your Aadhaar.

So, if you have multiple bank accounts and you have linked them all with Aadhaar you can only verify the last one. Though, you can still check the status of your Aadhaar to Bank account linking with your bank.


That's all about how to check the status of your Aadhaar to bank account linking. The Aadhaar website - www.uidai.gov.in provides you an option to check that but it will only work if your mobile number is linked with Aadhaar and you can receive OTP on that because you need OTP to login into Aadhaar website. Another way to check if your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account is by contacting your bank or using internet banking.
